How to register a domain with Horanos

You can register most domains directly in our shop – from .com, .net and .org to country domains such as .de or .nl. This guide shows the steps.

Step by step

1. 01Open “Store → Register a New Domain”.
2. 02Enter the name you want and start the search. You will see whether the domain is available and what it costs, along with suggestions for other extensions.
3. 03Click “Add to Cart” next to the domain you want, then click “Checkout”.
4. 04On the “Domains Configuration” page, check the registration period and the nameservers (see below), then click “Continue”.
5. 05Log in or create a customer account, complete the order and pay the invoice.
6. 06Once your payment has been received, we register the domain. You will then find it in your client area under your domains.

Nameservers: with or without our hosting

• Website with us: keep the preset nameservers ns1.horanos.com and ns2.horanos.com. If you order the domain together with a hosting plan, there is nothing to set.
• Website with another provider: enter that provider's nameservers – see “Buy a domain and keep your current hosting”.

Syrian domains

For .sy, .سورية and extensions such as .com.sy, the rules of the national registry apply: an application form and, depending on the extension, supporting documents. See “How to register a Syrian domain, step by step” and “Syrian domain extensions: who can register them”.
