What you need
These are the fields of the official form. Have them ready before you start.
- The domain name: in Latin letters for and its sub-zones, in Arabic letters for .سورية.
- The owner's name (a person or an organisation), e-mail, phone, country and address.
- Two name servers, primary and secondary. If you host with us: ns1.horanos.com and ns2.horanos.com.
- The official form, signed and stamped by the applicant.
On the form you choose: reserve the name without activating it, or reserve and activate it.
What you undertake on the form
- That you have read and accept the terms for registering a Syrian domain.
- That the information is correct and your responsibility, and that you tell the Authority of any change.
- That the name does not belong to anyone else inside or outside Syria, as a trademark or commercial registration. The Authority may suspend or cancel the registration if it does.

How long does it take?

Common questions
Why can't I register .sy on an international site?
Syrian domains are registered through registrars authorised by the National Authority for IT Services. Horanos Tech is one, and the authorisation is published on this page.
What is the difference between .sy and .com.sy?
.sy is the top level: shorter and clearer. .com.sy is a commercial form common among companies. The difference is in meaning, not in how the site works.
Can I host my site with another provider?
Yes. Write their two name servers on the form instead of ours.
What if the name is someone else's trademark?
On the form you undertake that the name is not someone else's, and the Authority may suspend or cancel the registration if it is. Choose a name that is yours.
